Why castrate?

  • To produce bright, cherry red colored meat which better meets consumer expectations
  • To enjoy better market price
  • To improve disposition
  • To avoid unwanted pregnancies in the herd or feedlot situations

Castration is required for participation of calves in the IQ+BEEF program.
