What do they mean? Why are they important? They are important to the feedlot operator who may be purchasing your cattle!

  • Buyers preferences - Buyers of feeder cattle want cattle they can finish in a specified length of time with a minimum amount of feed input. This will provide the most desirable product for the consumer.
  • Grades provide a classification of livestock within the industry, thereby improving clarity of communication.
