The IQ+BEEF program includes 4 main areas of certification:

Definition of Quality
This information is covered over three modules whose criteria for a high quality final product. Included are quality and yield grades, carcass measurements, the importance of avoiding injection site lesions, and delivering a quality product.

Manage for Quality
Information includes how day-to-day management practices affect the quality of beef. Topics include proper castration, dehorning, branding and maintaining records. Another component of this module is financial management and record keeping.

Handling and Well-being
This chapter deals with a real “hot button” issues that have been in the news quite often. The educational module begins with the theory of the animal well-being movement. Additional information provided is design factors in cattle handling/living areas, handling precautions, and general animal husbandry concerns.

Sire Selection and Genetics
This chapter involves the selection of a sire using the “Power Score” method.
